I am a HimAlpine climber and Mountain Guide. I live in the foothills of the Kumaon Himalaya, and climb and guide all over the Indian Himalaya.
I started working in the outdoors 20 years ago, volunteering as a guide for the World Wide Fund for Nature, India. I was amongst the first Indians to take up Mountain Biking. After getting a degree in communication and a stint as a journalist covering crime, I traveled through India, and eventually found myself guiding Mt. Stok Kangri in Ladakh. Since then, I have climbed and guided all over the Indian Himalaya.
I have a strong belief in a pure, low-impact style of exploration and climbing. Personally, my interest lies in exploring the impact of climate change on our glaciers. As a climber, I am interested in opening new routes and unclimbed peaks in my country, and I have first ascents on rock, ice and alpine.
All my trips reflect my values and belief of inclusivity and sensitivity.
